Tina Adams, On Any Given Sunday

Tina, here.

So my girlfriends have been dying for me to do this post. Me, how I really dress hanging around my house and neighborhood.

Chocolate is usually involved. And very little makeup.

I've had my cover blown more times than I care to admit in the last couple weeks. At the Blowout Co, TJ Maxx, Flip and a couple other spots around town. I was wearing yoga pants, had on no makeup, hair looking scary and lord only knows what came out of my mouth when I was greeted by someone who saw me. Style Vault members this month witnessed me film the entire style secret video wearing yoga pants. I KNOW. You see, I had surgery a few weeks ago, hopefully the last in a series of surgeries dealing with the fallout of infections I had after my double mastectomy. Six surgeries in less than 2 years can take a toll on a girl. So can all that anesthesia, as I've been trying to explain to everyone who answers my questions with, "I told you already" or "Did you forget? We already talked about that" to which my response is usually, "ummmm hi yes I forgot." But I think I'm about out of time using that excuse with people. It was so convenient. Aaaaanyway, I absolutely love meeting our blog readers and Vault members and clients. It makes my day when someone comes up to introduce themselves to me. And I'm pretty sure it's a relief to them to see that I'm a normal human being who doesn't always have it together. Now, let me say that I always have on the right yoga pants that don't accost passersby with my bum or my crotch exposed. Yoga pants are a great sick day uniform. End of story.

So here's what I wear when I'm not really dressing. My friends have been documenting this for a couple years and use their photos to bribe me on a regular basis (pink and black??). So I thought, why not step out in front of it and get control of it?

Here, my friends, is me, on any given Sunday.

1. Loungewear

When I get home from church, I love a good Sunday baking day. I rarely get to do this anymore. Taking a cue from my mother, who never cooked in her real clothes (she said it was so they didn't absorb cooking odors), I don't cook or bake in normal clothes either.

Lounge pants, aka yoga pants with a super soft pullover and socks, that I could take a walk in later while the cookies are baking.

Sweatshirts have a come a long way since the days of PE school uniforms with those horrid bands across your hips. They are slouchier now. This one has become my favorite thing to wear lately. Vault members, shop it now inside November, Style Notes. If you're not a member, you just pay about $8 to start shopping all my favorite finds each month, updated weekly, and you save hundreds of dollars. More info here.

But be careful - slouchy can get sloppy so make sure your loungewear has some shape to it like this shaped hemline. Style Vault members, shop this fab loungewear sweatshirt inside the November Style Vault, Style Notes. Remember, we're not like everybody else. We don't make money on you when you purchase our favorite things inside the Vault.

2. Athleisure

Yes. I walk in a white track suit. Made of cashmere. Don't you? Probably cause you don't know where to get one! I got mine at Target years ago. But I've seen them all over the stores this year. They are often acrylic or a cashmere blend, which is fine. Just be sure it feels good and looks good.

There's just something about a matching track suit made of good fabric that keeps you warm on a cold winter's day. You're less likely to be accused of being homeless, which is good for the whole neighborhood. You can stop googling and searching and being frustrated - shop a cozy cashmere lounge pant and hoodie in the November Style Vault, Style Notes, just added.

Of course, if there's a dog, I'm stooping down to say hello.

3. Casual wear for family time

Tina Adams, On Any Given Sunday

For years, I have joined my brothers, sister-in-law, niece and nephews for Sunday lunch or dinner. We're real casual. Often I actually show up in the athleisure or loungewear I was in earlier in the day. But if I can be bothered, I throw on jeans.

After all my surgeries, I've gathered quite a collection of button-downs. Mostly men's from Target and TJ Maxx. If you wear them over skinny jeans and toss on a vest to create shape around your waist, no one will ever know. And if they do, who cares? Men's button-downs were a favorite of mine long before they became a necessity.

I have put several vests in the Style Vault this fall. They are so incredibly useful. Get yourself one before the stores sell out, like last year. I never got the one I wanted so I bought early this year! Members login here and start shopping!

And of course, Sundays were made for comfy shoes like Converse.
