Barbara Wears the Black Lyford Top

I'm going to be really honest with you...wearing a wrap top is one of the most flattering items a woman can wear, and this J. Mclaughlin Lyford wrap top is fabulous! Why? Because a wrap top hides a multitude of bulges while still giving shape. I often brag to my clients about the Catalina Cloth fabric that so many of the J.McLaughlin tops are made of; but this is a new fabric for them and I LOVE IT! This Lyford microfiber is thin and drapes beautifully. I also love the 3/4 length sleeves because it is the perfect transition piece to be wearing now and all through fall. As Tina pointed out yesterday in her blog, five of us (who are all different sizes!) styled this and we all found this top to be true to our size and very easy to wear!

Fabulous Over Fifty: Barbara Wears the Black Lyford Top

I just love this black top paired with my flare jeans and snakeskin sling back shoes. The low V-neck created by this wrap top is the perfect neckline to wear with my funky leather/copper necklace. I shortened the copper on the necklace so as to create more of a choker look that is so big this fall.

I added the fringe vest and hat to make the look super casual. Perfect for a dinner out with friends!

To get more wear out of an item, make sure you can dress it up or down. Neutral items are more likely to achieve this, which is why I can wear this black top with jeans and with a pencil skirt for a more formal occasion.

This outfit can take me from meetings/work during the day and on to dinner at night. I love the wrap top tucked into my zebra skirt and belted. I don't need much else to make this work. My black patent pumps add the finishing touch and I'm ready to walk out the door for a great day!

I love the copper color at my neck next to the black top. This top is great for traveling too, and I love this whole look for those that need to travel for work. Pulled together and ready for business.
