Six Products You Need In Your Life Now

Tina, here.

Don't you love it when someone tells you about a new product or service that can transform your life? You're about to be that cool person once you read this post.

6 Products You Need Right Now

I mean, we're all on a need-to-know basis when it comes to what's the latest, greatest and best of anything at all on God's green earth. And when you know your friend is telling you, you listen. Today I'm sharing my top three products you need in your life now, 2 come with hefty discounts for Vault members and consulting clients (sorry, this offer has expired), and my friend you know and love, Deidre, is sharing her top three products. This should be fun.

That's Deidre and me. We disagree all the time. In fact I can't understand why she's not using a retinol yet. But she can't forgive me for not taking a vitamin. Yin. Yang.

Tina's 3 picks:

1. A Retinol

The Six Products You Need To Be Using Now

Tina: I've been known to skip washing my face when I'm too tired, and been met with judgey gasps and head shakes from those more committed to their skin care regimens. I changed when I met Carmen at Private Edition.  She said the number one product you have to use is a retinol, bar none. Retinol is like cars. There are cheap ones that don't work, dependable ones that are like meh, and performance-oriented ones that deliver. Omorovicza Gold Night Drops  is the Porsche of retinols (but without the upkeep). Heads will turn and people will stare, and they'll be wondering what the heck you do to your skin. The problem with so many fancy creams and potions is that the super-expensive ingredients don't ever get absorbed at a cellular level. Now they will. You will get what you pay for with this product. I'm proof. The Hydro Mineral Transference™ delivers minerals deep into the skin. There's vitamin A, reducing the depth of wrinkles and fine lines. There's vitamin C, for cell-growth and restored elasticity. And omega 6 ceramide, to restore the skin's barrier function. And did you ever know you needed bifida? It repairs and prevents photo-aging and photo-damage and other stuff you can read about on Private Edition's website. It just takes one little drop of this cream for your entire face, neck and décolletée. Here's a less expensive Retinol Correction Night Cream (Sensitive Skin).

Deidre: I'm going to be honest. I just learned what Retinol really does for you when I filmed the skincare video. Carmen is so knowledgable. I'm one of those people who doesn't ever think I'm going to age, so I'm kind of in denial about needing to use anti-aging skin care products. However, I may have recently been convinced. Using retinol is on my list of "Things to do before I'm 30" (which is rapidly approaching!).

2. Physical Sunblock

The Six Products You Need To Be Using Now

Tina:  I have been using sunscreen for decades, and now I'm really fanatic about it. You know why? Because I've been using the wrong kind of sunscreen. Most are chemical. Not good. You need a physical sunblock. The difference is that most sunscreens allow the sun's rays to land on the surface of your skin, and then filter them for you. Physical sunblocks like this one, Omorovicza The Complexion Corrector, physically block UVA and UVB rays so that they never even hit your skin. BIG diff, dolls. They've come a long way, too. They don't look like white face paint anymore if you get a good one. This one is silicone-free and has some stuff in it to fade age spots, too. It's been fading a sunspot on my chest slowly but surely. Yay. The number 2 cause of aging is the sun (only behind genetics). This you can control. Here's a less expensive sunscreen I use, too.

Deidre: I have tons of freckles and moles, so for the past several years, I have really been good about wearing SPF30 pretty much all the time. When we were in Turks and Caicos, Tina was our vampire friend who stayed under the umbrella most of the time. I'm not that crazy, but I did wear SPF50 on vacation and re-applied several times per day. I love to get a real summer glow and haven't found spray tans to look very good on my light skin. In the winter, I just embrace my paleness.

3. The claw.

The Six Products You Need To Be Using Now

Tina: I kind of stole this from Deidre. I have fine hair that doesn't hold a style very well. The secret to having hair that looks like you get a blowout every day of the week? Sleeping in the claw. So simple. Here I am demonstrating the results.

I did not even run a brush through my hair and I didn't have to use hairspray. It is that crazy simple. The fact that I can have bouncy hair every day is, and I mean this, a miracle.

Deidre: We all know I get all the credit for Tina having fabulous hair. Clearly my weekly blowouts are what keep her looking fab, but a big part of them lasting is because of this clip we call The Claw. It's really incredible how sleeping with your hair clipped up in a loose bun can keep body and bounce in your hair. I educate my clients on this all the time. You can learn more about how to use the claw and make your style last here.

You can purchase our favorite claw here. Actually, it's called a croc clip, and is $11.99 for 12. Order some for party favors!

Deidre's 3 picks:

4. Neutrogena Makeup Wipes

The Six Products You Need To Be Using Now

Deidre: Ask any makeup artist and they'll tell you they purchase these makeup removing wipes in bulk. They are clinically proven to remove 99.3% of your makeup, including waterproof mascara. When I have a long day at work, go straight to dinner and drinks, then come home exhausted and ready to crash, I can use one of these for a quick makeup removal before bed. Never, ever sleep in your makeup! This can be your alternative to crashing without washing your face on those days you're just too tired to go through the whole process.

Tina: I am now more committed than ever to my skin care regimen (there were years this was not the case). So if I'm going to use a wipe on my face, I'll just go ahead and clean it, retinol it, moisturize it. However, since Deidre introduced me to these wipes, I'm a big fan and use them slightly differently than she does. If I want to refresh my makeup before a night out, I'll use one of these wipes to get a clean palate before reapplying. I use them as an all-over body wipe when I'm flying to wipe off the grime of airports and airplanes (so much faster then breaking up your first day of travel with a shower). And they're great at the pool or any outdoor event on a hot day to wipe away sweat and maintain a cool body temp.

5. Daily multi-vitamin.

Six Products You Need In Your Life Now

Deidre: So I've worked at the same salon for over three years and have never called in sick. This is because I take my immune system seriously. I haven't been on an antibiotic in about 10 years. I take vitamins every day. My parents have raised me this way. They are both in their 60's and aren't on any medications. I swear they're going to live to be 150. I could go on and on about this, but I'll keep it short and sweet. If there's one vitamin you should be taking, it's a Multivitamin. The one I take twice a day is from a company called Herbalife. It includes 21 essential micronutrients, including Vitamins A, C and E. It promotes healthy bones, skin and hair and supports a healthy immune system. Why wouldn't you be taking this?! Stay healthy. Don't get sick. If you're interested in learning more about these, you can talk to my super fit and healthy friend Cara Cooper. She'd be happy to order you some of your own! Her email is: [email protected]

Tina: I just don't know. Somedays I'm a believer in vitamins, and some days I'm not. But I think the efficacy of vitamins seriously has to do with absorption, just like good skin care products. Deidre has really never led me astray and she's been pushing pills on me for a while now. And I can back her up on this one - I have never seen her sick. Allergies got the best of her one time this spring, but that's Nashville's fault. And I will say my immune system took a huge beating the past 18 months with all the surgeries and antibiotics I had, so if I were ever going to do it, this might be the right time.  Hi Cara.

6. Spotify.

Six Products You Need In Your Life Now

Deidre: The best $10/month I spend is on Spotify. There is a free version, but I despise commercials so much, it's worth the small monthly subscription fee. You can search and listen to whatever you want to hear on demand. In the car, I plug my auxiliary cord into my iPhone and stream Spotify over my car speakers. I never listen to the radio because why would I when I can create my very own playlist on Spotify and hear whatever I want?! It's a music lover's dream. And they pay the artists!

Tina: It's free, so why not. And the paid version is attractive for home use. When you're having people over you don't want commercials blasting through your home audio system. Huh. Just realized, the Style Vault is cheaper than both Spotify and Netflix. But I think they are all worth the monthly fee.

You can download Spotify from the App store on your phone or other device.

Time to get shopping, dolls. Change your life. Summer is a great time to venture into new territory. If you only get one thing, get the sunblock. No, the retinol. No, the sunblock. Ugh I don't know. You need both. Deidre says get the vitamin. Here we are disagreeing about the most important one. Yin yang.
