5 Things To Get Rid Of Right Now In Your Closet

Tina, here.

What are the worst fashion infractions we see in closets? I'm here to dish. No names will be shared. Because these crimes are being committed everywhere by everyone (pretty much) and so we're all in this together. Plus, we never reveal our clients. (Next Saturday 6/17/17 is your last day before Father's Day to save on a wardrobe package for him!)

Here's our list of what to get rid of now in your closet:

1. Denim with Yellow Stitching

Guess what else is wrong with these jeans? They are EVIL CAPRIS.

Replace your denim with yellow stitching with these by Current Elliott. Under $100? I thought they'd only have like a size 23 left, but no! Plenty of sizes! Get it while you can.

2. Ballet Flats

Follow along with me, here. The kind of ballet flats I'm referring to are the kindergarten kind.

They have an extremely rounded toe box, long vamp, no toe cleavage, and no side arch. And because they are so flat, they provide zero support. Typically speaking.

Replace your tired ballet flats with almond toe or pointy toe flats, with a little toe cleavage and side arch showing. Much more grown up and flattering.

3. Bodycon Dresses and Tops (because I know you're hoarding them ;))

The new shape of clothes is looser. Looser, not oversized. You are not allowed to keep buying clothes that are too big for you because they feel good, and think now they look on trend, mkay cupcakes? There's a difference between loose and oversized. Replace with slipdresses and feminine blouses.

These are all t-shirt dresses! So cool and comfy.

4. Floppy Hats

By floppy, I mean the brim is truly flopping around your head. Boho chic is moving along...not gone yet, but you don't want to be the last one to get off that train. Wide brims are ok, but look for one that has some support so it's not, well, flopping.

Replace with the ever classic fedora (this one has UPF50!).

Each of these hats is also labeled UPF50.

5. Your Target-Weight Jeans

Why torment yourself? It has been shown over and over again than negative reinforcement does not work. How bout some positive reinforcement by wearing a pair of jeans now that look fabulous on you? The compliments you'll receive will be a source of wonderful positive reinforcement, and you'll have more room in your closet for flattering jeans that fit today. As you near your target weight, consign or donate the ones that are too big and replace them with new ones.
