A December Full Of Delights: Charming Gifts For Teachers, Assistants & Life-Savers

Tina, here.

Welcome to your daily dose of delights we're bringing you all December long as part of our annual holiday series.

All month long, when you visit our blog, you'll find enchanting ideas and inspirations to make this holiday season full of beauty, good cheer, and simple elegance. And did I mention easy? It's a use what you have decorating credo, much like our wear what you have wardrobe code. We also put together our annual Gift Guide. (Insiders, you already received both of our Holiday Guides in full. Login to start shopping our Holiday Home Guide and our Gift Guide.)

Teacher Gifts, Assistants & Life-Savers

Today we're helping you check a few folks off your list. Teachers, Assistants and your Life-Savers. Because you really need to stay on these folks' good list. You need to get these gifts right.

Word to the wise: gift certs are boring (it's just paper) and no teacher or babysitter I know wants cookies. Here's what's trending this year if you want your children's teachers to loooove them and if you want your assistant to keep getting your coffee order right.

Two words. Orange. Blue. As in Tiffany blue and Hermès orange. It doesn't really matter what's inside. The boxes alone say, "I think you're the best teacher/babysitter/assistant ever in the whole world and you better give my child all A's/teach my kids to speak French before you put them to bed/make sure all my memos have zero typos." Insiders got first dibs on these but I just checked and miraculously there are still a few left!

A few more suggestions:

NEST Fragrances Classic Candle- Birchwood Pine, Amazon, $40. Candles, good candles, mind you, make excellent gifts because they are disposable and everyone loves them. This scent is the scent every other candlemaker tries to knock off. It's THE best.
