Addicted to Accessories

It’s Amy here. Happy Spring everyone! I have to confess something, I am a tad addicted to accessories. Whew! I am so glad I got that off of my chest.

Now, with that being said, I want to pass on a little wisdom from one fashionista to another.

Accessories do not need to make the outfit. They need to complete it.

Accessories

Here I am in Fabrik, a great boutique south of Nashville in Franklin where I love taking clients for accessories.

If you know our shopping philosophy at Tina Adams Wardrobe Consulting, you know we do not buy a pair of shoes or a necklace to wear just once. We encourage our clients to invest in great pieces that you can wear more than once and with more than one thing in multiple seasons. Hence, our stylist math, driving down your cost per wear.

When you walk into any boutique, it can be hard for an accessories lover like myself to resist not buying the whole store, or buying that necklace or that pair of shoes that you're sure you will eventually find the perfect outfit to wear with it. Well, you know what will happen. It's going to sit in the jewelry box or shoe box and you are going to be so sad you never wear it.

How could I ever choose just one? Click here to get your hands on one of these fine necklaces from Fabrik. Also, coming next month in the Style Vault, cool hand-made necklaces from one of the South's best new artists. Learn more about the Vault here.

We have to buy smart, ladies, and buy what will compliment our wardrobes. So I did a little research for my fashion friends and clients.

Accessories

Here's an upclose of the pretty matte gold clutch (found at Emmaline in downtown Franklin) and shoes I put with my bootcut white jeans (I wear skinny jeans, too!). You can play matchy-matchy when the accessories are sophisticated and not too busy.

When I set out on my little shopping trip, I had one goal in mind: I knew I wanted a new spring statement piece, whether it be a long necklace or a cool jacket to wear with my white jeans and dresses, to update them. Did you notice, I didn’t say I wanted to buy something to wear with one thing? I wanted something I could wear with my white jeans and the rest of my existing spring wardrobe.

Accessories

Don't you love the sparkly necklace with this sailor stripe dress and a straw fedora? It all just works.

Accessories can help you reinvent your wardrobe, but you have to make sure you buy the right ones and we can help you with that. We at Tina Adams Consulting can help you pick the right shoes, handbags or statement jewelry that will turn your existing wardrobe into something seemingly brand new, in a cost effective way. If you're in Nashville or Franklin, shop with us and save up to 20% off your purchases. If you're not nearby, join the Style Vault to shop a taste of what we're buying our clients each month.

Accessories

You can still wear your fun scarves this spring. They feel fresh and light with white jeans.

Accessories

Look for fun scarves in spring colors, too. No need to be afraid of mixing colors.

On cooler days, you can also add a blazer (a fave) and you can change that plain white tee into a chic ensemble ready for lunch with the girls or a casual date night. If you have a plain white tee like I have on in the picture below, add a fun new necklace and a new pair of shoes and you are ready to go, wearing something "old" from last season and something new from this season.  (For our best white t-shirt ever, join the Style Vault and you'll have instant access to it, along with other great April finds, plus you'll get exclusive discount codes to save while you shop.)

Accessories

I love a column of white with a pop of color and great accessories.
