Do you want skinny-looking ankles and legs? Wish granted. If you read our August: Shop Your Back-To-School Early Fall Must-Haves post, you were introduced to a brand new style in jeans. Now, here's a trend I can get behind: split hem jeans and pants. They make your ankles look soooo skinny, which in turn makes your legs look miles long. One of our favorite sales associates we work with in Nashville introduced these St. John split hem pants to me about 3 years ago, and I'm on my second pair. I introduced them to several clients who are also invested. (I recommend not overly-investing in split hem jeans, but a great pair of classic black split hem pants is a strong investment.)
Here are two more options, one on the high end, and one reasonably priced!
I just love that kick, that bit of flare you get when you walk. Plus they show off your shoes very nicely, especially if you're wearing ankle straps. I would not wear booties with these pants. You need a narrower leg opening. The slit can be in front, in back, or on either side of your ankles. It works on bootcut or slim cut. I like the length to be no shorter than the top of your ankle bone. I'll probably only purchase one pair of split hem jeans, since it is a bit of trend and I'm not sure of its staying power. I personally love this trend, so who knows, I may pick up more than one pair.
There's also a lot of the step hem trend going on this fall. Step hem jeans and pants are like those high low skirts from a few seasons back, but I much prefer the pants as opposed to the skirts.
I've dressed my split hem black pants up for a party with a pretty top and sparkly pumps, and worn them on regular days when I don't know what to wear, so I just throw them on with a t-shirt and blazer.
