How To Wear A Bomber Jacket: The Must-Have Jacket Of The Season
Today we get to hear from my dear friend and fellow blogger/jacket hoarder, Cathi Aycock of Style Home Page. She interviewed me earlier this fall, and now I get to show her off to you! She's dishing on one of our favorites, the bomber jacket.
The bomber jacket is a must-have for fall.
Unlike traditional blazers that are work wear perfection or classically casual denim jackets, the bomber jacket isn't so easily pegged.
We take this floral bomber and style it three ways. Floral bomber jacket from Who What Wear, $34.99 at Target.
Can this iconic sportswear piece work for office, dinner out and uber casual events? We show you three different looks that will work for your desk to dinner lifestyle. (Did we mention our bomber jacket came from Target and costs a budget friendly $34.99?)
Dinner and Date Night
The bomber, a short jacket with a decidedly casual vibe can go sophisticated when you pair it with the right options.
Wear the bomber with luxe separates like suede booties and glam layered necklaces for a going-out-to-dinner vibe that adds style points to colored denim. Keep things sophisticated with a black tank which gives the dark floral printed jacket an edgy, not sweet, spin.
Work Wear
The bomber can sub in for a jacket for the office with ease. Pairing the waist-cinching jacket with high waisted, wide legged menswear inspired trousers makes legs look miles long and creates an hourglass silhouette by drawing attention to a defined waist.
The jacket also works well with a pencil skirt that hits at or below the knee. Avoid pairing the non-structured bomber jacket with floaty, loose bottoms. You need to create a waist with a structured silhouette like tailored trousers or slimming pencil skirts.
Easy & Casual
The bomber pairs perfectly with casual denim. Here, a dark floral pattern mixed with stripes gives distressed denim and pull on sneakers a sense of casual style (because fashion bloggers and style pundits live and die for a good stripe and floral mix).
