Breast cancer has touched my family, too. Both my sister, and my father, yes, my father, have fought breast cancer. I wasn't going to let it get me. After lots of scares, tests and MRI's, when my oncologist told me I was a "ticking time bomb," that was it for me. So a couple years ago I elected to undergo a prophylactic double mastectomy. And that's when I met my best friend, Deidre. God placed her in my life at a crucial moment. You know Deidre from the Blowout Co., winner of "Best Blowout in Nashville." She took care of my hair all those months and months I couldn't wash it, and then she took care of me surgery after surgery. And after a lot of dreaming up how we could help other women, The Pink Chapter was born.
