Outdoor Concert: What Do You Wear?

Tina, here.

It's the season of outdoor concerts and summer music festivals. Wardrobe nightmare. Too hot for pants. Tough to wear a dress or skirt when you may be sitting on the ground. You'll be juggling food, drinks, phone and potentially babies or children. And what if it starts raining? Let's address this now so that when the time comes you're armed and ready wth a plan.

I opt for a dress if I possibly can. And I like a denim dress because it absorbs sweat, subtlely. I sweat in heat and don't like it to show, so in a cost-benefit analysis, I decided the weight of denim outweighed (ha) the thinner yet cooler fabrics which won't hide my sweat. But denim is a natural fiber, so it breathes. Best of both worlds I imagine.

Shoes will be an issue. You'll be walking a lot. From the parking area 2 miles away to the venue. Or if just across the parking lot, there will be grass most likely. If none of those apply, wear the flats so you can get up on your feet and dance! But you will want a chunky heel or pair of wedges if you opt for height. Don't wear your best pair, though.

The middle left wedges come in Wide, below.

Don't forget, the temps will drop when the sun goes down, so you may want a light jacket.
