A Pretty Wreath Alternative - The Stylish Girl's Easy Guide to the Holidays - Day 18

Looking for an alternative to a wreath this year? Maybe for your side or back door?

I just can't find enough uses for my pinecones.

Does this picture make you think I sprinkled fairy dust on the pinecones I foraged in the forest? Good. That's what I wanted you to think. But we all know that is not the case. Not to say you couldn't do this yourself, though! All you need are pinecones, glue, a brush for glue, small screw eyes and German glass glitter. Yes, German glass glitter is what sets this apart from an elementary school project. And velvet ribbon.

First, insert a small screw eye into the woody end of the pine cone where you'll tie the velvet ribbon. Spread glue on the tips of the pinecones with the brush, then sprinkle the glitter over them (with a bowl underneath to catch the errant glitter). Then roll the tips around to pick up more glitter.

I added a little grapevine wreath sprinkled with the glass glitter to hang the ribbon from on the door.

Pile 'em on there for a great effect. And you have a gorgeous door decoration!

Merry, merry!
