Lately, more often than not, when I'm shopping with Tina, we find ourselves gravitating toward the same items. We used to think we were completely opposite, but we're learning more and more how much common ground we have. Just a couple weeks ago, we were skimming over the sale shoes at some department store and were both drawn to the exact same shoe. It happened to be an espadrille, which is the summer shoe you need to own. (The exact one we both fell in love with ended up as a must-have item in the members-only Style Vault this month. Tina's got hers. I've got mine. But now she wants mine. Can you tell whose is whose?

I love to wear boots and booties all fall and winter, but as soon as the weather gets warm, I almost forget what other shoe to wear. I spend my days standing, so I can't spend a nine hour workday in wedges, but I need a little more support than flat sandals can offer me. To be casual, comfy and stylish all spring and summer, the espadrille has you covered. Whether you're 25 or 55, this is the shoe you can wear to lunch with your girlfriends, to your kid's baseball game, or even to the office. Yes, that's right. It's more dressy than a sneaker and more comfy than a wedge which gives you the versatility to dress it up or down.

I'm loving my white espadrilles with a neutral backdrop. WHO AM I? I used to wear hippie boho florals and stuff. That Tina, she's rubbed off on me.

When I say anyone can wear this shoe, I mean it. If your significant other seems to be stuck on his boat shoes or dad sneakers, introduce him to the espadrille. It's a co-ed style with a nautical feel that has you daydreaming about living at the beach or spending your days lounging on a yacht. The fabric on top and rope-sewn sole are even appropriate for children. We don't, however, recommend allowing every member of the family to wear matching shoes on the same day. That's just not okay.

The most fascinating thing is the amount of colors, patterns and styles you can find when it comes to an espadrille, and they're all just as fabulous as the next. Tina has sparkly, canvas and lace ones. I have a white vegan leather pair. The must-have inside the Style Vault is beaded. Some have thicker soles than others. There is an endless amount of variety and we pretty much love them all, so be creative and get a little wild.
