The Softer Side Of Summer Stripes & Color

Tina, here.

I actually do wear color from time to time. You can see a lot of my summer wardrobe, including pieces in gorgeous colors, in this recent post: Tina's Picks From The Online Boutique That Brought You The Miracle Pant. It's easier to wear bright colors in Summer because the light is stronger and the mood is easier. It's hard to pull off pink in the winter at a business meeting. A color that is big this summer happens to be yellow, which is quite difficult for most women to wear. So how can you embrace difficult-to-wear colors? Wear them on the bottom half!

What else looks good with yellow besides pink? Guess. White!

Summer Stripes

It may be hard to see, but I'm wearing pinstripes. I've held onto most of my blouses, especially the menswear pinstripe ones, because I love mixing them with feminine pieces like this linen skirt. The mish-mash of menswear and ruffles gets me every time.

Pink is flattering to every skin tone. Now, whether you're better with warm or cool pinks depends. If your skin has a lot of pink it it, or is black, you can wear any shade of pink (except certain blush pinks that are warm and almost camel because they drain your skin of light). If your skin has more olive in it, and is light brown, stick to pinks like cool flamingo and fuchsia.
